NHL Hires Fournier, Toomey, Kelly & Flemington

NHL hires Fournier, Toomey, Flemington & Kelly to officiating staff

Scouting The Refs has reported that the NHL has hired 3 linesman and 1 referee this offseason.

Julien Fournier, Travis Toomey, and Kyle Flemington join the staff as linesman, while Dan Kelly is the lone referee.

Fournier worked the ECHL's 2019 Kelly Cup final, while also having worked in the AHL & QMJHL.  He also attended the 2019 NHL Officiating Combine held in Buffalo.

Toomey starting officiating in 2017 with the North Zone Referee Committee in Alberta after a lengthy WHL & CIS playing career.  From there he progressed to the WHL, working the WHL Conference Finals in 2019, while also working games in the AHL.

Flemington officiated one season in the OHL & AHL after concluding a lengthy playing career that included stints with the London Knights, Sarnia Sting, Saginaw Spirit, Wheeling Nailers, Fort Wayne Comets and Edinburgh Capitals.

Kelly also officiated one season in the OHL & AHL after concluding a playing career that included stops with the Kitchener Rangers, Albany Devils, and San Jose Barracuda.
