NHL Linesman Michel Cormier Leaves Game with Injury
NHL Linesman Michel Cormier left the Pittsburgh Penguins vs Colorado Avalanche game with an injury on Wednesday night.
Cormier appeared to lose an edge while pivoting near the blue line, and fell backwards hitting his head on the boards.
Play was stopped almost immediately as Cormier lay relatively motionless on the ice.
Referees Kevin Pollock, Jon Macisaac and linesman Tyson Baker finished officiating the game using the two referee, one linesman system.
There has been no further update on Cormier's condition at this time.
Cormier, 45, is in his 17th season as a linesman in the National Hockey League. He's a veteran linesman in the league, that has previously been selected to officiate in the Conference Finals.
We wish Michel a speedy recovery, and hope to see him back out patrolling the lines soon!
